My name is Steve Zuiker and I am a professor in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. I am also the leader of the Arizona Community Educator Initiative (AZCE) Research Team. AZCE seeks to increase the number, coordination, and impact of community educators who are working with Arizona students in order to provide support to students, teachers, schools, families, and the broader community as they recover from the unprecedented disruption of normal life and school caused by the pandemic. The intent of this study is to help us get an understanding of the current situation in Arizona regarding community members working with students in classrooms.
I am inviting your participation because you are involved in supporting student success in classrooms. This study will involve taking a 10-minute survey asking about you and your experiences. You have the right not to answer any question, and to stop participation at any time. Your responses will remain anonymous as the survey will not collect or record any personal identifying information. At the end of the survey you will be asked if you would like to enter a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card. If you say yes, you will be taken to a separate survey to enter your email address.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. If you choose not to participate or to withdraw from the study at any time, there will be no penalty. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this study.
There are no expected benefits nor are there any foreseeable risks or discomforts to your participation.
The results of this study may be used in reports, presentations, or publications but your name will not be used. Results will mainly be shared in aggregate form. We hope this helps you feel comfortable answering these questions as openly and honestly as possible.
